One fan bluntly told the star she needed to ‘bathe more often’.

The video shows Teigen in the bath, scrubbing her body using an exfoliating cream from Legend’s Loved01 skincare line.

“Sometimes you gotta exfoliate!” the brief video was captioned.

But many of Legend’s 15 million-plus Instagram followers missed the audio.

When Legend asked his wife what she was doing, she explained that she was scrubbing off body makeup.

All fans saw was Teigen sitting in a tub of dirty brown water — and the internet collectively freaked out.

The comments section exploded with advice about Teigen needing to bathe more often and how revolting it was to soak in dirty bathwater.

“That’s what the shower is for!” one person said.

“Why the bath?

“Soaking in your own nasty filth.”

“Y’all on well water?” said another.

“Too much dirt for one body, not showering enough I believe,” offered another.

“You need to bathe more often,” one follower stated bluntly.

Teigen eventually clapped back in the most measured way possible, dropping into the comments section to reiterate that she wasn’t dirty, she was washing off makeup.

“The water is dirty because I’m getting my body makeup off like I said in the video my sweet angels!” she wrote, garnering more than 11,000 likes for her polite but mildly exasperated-sounding response.

Others couldn’t believe fans hadn’t paid attention to the audio in the first place.

“She literally says that she’s getting her body makeup off,” one fan wrote.

“That’s makeup. Not dirt.

“Some of y’all are special.”

“Wow, people really don’t read or listen, do they?” wrote another.

“Not dirty water people. She’s not dirty,” added a third.

“She’s exfoliating to get her body makeup off. If you listen to the video!”

Others couldn’t really understand why Legend had shared a video of his wife in the bath in the first place.

“Who needs to see that tho?” one person wondered.

“This could’ve stayed in John’s phone,” said another.

“There used to be a time when a man would die a gruesome and slow death than post his wife half naked on the internet,” another stated dramatically.

One fan was a little more blunt.

“It’s not too late to take this cringe down,” they wrote.

But others were less bothered by the concept of Teigen’s bath time being on the internet.

“The people freaking out about arms and legs ... you’ve been to the beach, right?” one follower wondered.

“She isn’t showing anything more than what she would if she had a swimsuit on,” agreed another.

“Why do y’all have to make such a big damn deal about nothing?

“If you don’t like it, then you know the drill.

“Move on.”

And all the furore had one positive effect.

“I was today years old when I learned John Legend had a skincare brand,” one follower wrote.
