Fans speculate on Farmer Wants a Wife ‘engagement’ from blink-and-you-miss-it detail

The TV star penned a heartwarming song for her farmer.

Farmer Wants A Wife star Sarah Carey’s latest video has sent fans into a spin with eagle-eyed viewers clocking a ring on her engagement finger.

A month after Farmer Joe confessed he was falling in love with Sarah during the finale of the hit Channel 7 show, excited fans continue to watch their love story unfold via their social media accounts.

On Sunday Carey, a talented singer-songwriter, posted a video of a song she had been working on.

“I also don’t have a name for this song yet, so let me know if you have any ideas!” she captioned the Instagram video.

Amid comments commending her on the performance and sharing song name ideas, some fans noticed the jewellery on her left ring finger.

“I spy with my little eye a pretty ring on your finger xxx,” one said.

“First thing I noticed!! Do you have something to tell everyone Sarah?” a second said.

“Beautiful song Sarah so glad you both ended up together … is that an engagement ring on your finger?” added another.

7NEWS.com.au has contacted Carey for comment.

In the video, Carey explained the background to the song she had written.

“When we were filming Farmer Wants a Wife, where Joe and I met, I wrote him a song and I actually sang it to him in the last episode that aired but unfortunately it got cut,” she said.

“They edited it out, which was a bit disappointing.

“Especially because I really struggled to express how I’m feeling in a conversation, in a song I’m fine but conversation is a bit hard. So I started to show him how I felt.”

“He loved it, it was only a verse at the time and he’s been bugging me for the last six months to finish the song.”

Farrmer Joe was quick to respond, writing, “Get it Sez” with a fire emoji.

“You are amazing,” Farmer Todd’s chosen lady Daisy Lamb said.

“Oh I love this so much,” Farmer Dustin’s contestant Anna Wilson said.

“So beautiful you are so talented! Love the lyrics you have added! Clever! x” Farmer Dustin’s chosen lady Sophie Trethowan wrote.

It comes after Carey opened up about watching the finale episode last month, calling it “one of the hardest times”.

“I was quite emotional and upset, there was a fair bit of trolling,” Sarah told 7NEWS.com.au at the time.

“So that was probably one of the hardest times of my life, if I’m honest.

“I got to the end of it and quite honestly I was crying on the phone to Joe.”

Carey said she was “so upset” at some viewers’ reactions to Farmer Joe choosing her in the final episode of the reality TV dating show.

She said people even stopped her in the streets to remark: “I am surprised he chose you.”

Carey said she did “struggle with the cameras” and got “quite anxious” being filmed, something she thinks came across in the show.

“I think not having gone through that before ... Joe and I are quite sensitive people so it rocked us both,” she said.

Life after Farmer Wants A Wife

Carey now splits her time between Joe’s farm and her home in Queensland, where her beloved dog still lives.

“Joe and I are trying to navigate our new relationship, it’s all so new,” she said.

However, she is over the moon to share her new position working on the Snowy Hydro Project, just a short commute from Joe’s farm.

With no regrets over the experience — after all, it led her to her farmer and some friends for life — Carey urges people to “lead with kindness”.
