A man who was allegedly struck by a four-wheel-drive in Melbourne earlier this week has died.

A 47-year-old man has been charged.

A man who was allegedly struck by a four-wheel-drive in Melbourne earlier this week has died.

The 84-year-old was rushed to hospital after he suffered life-threatening injuries while crossing Mount Alexander Rd in Essendon North just after 1.30pm on Monday.

The Essendon local died in hospital from his injuries, Victoria Police confirmed on Wednesday.

A 47-year-old Keilor Park man was arrested at the scene.

Police have charged him with dangerous driving causing serious injury and unlicensed driving.

He will appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
